After a delicious meal of apples from the farmer, BB trudges down the road, when suddenly, he hears something strange: music! It’s unlike anything he’s ever heard before—happy, upbeat, and it makes him smile. But where is it coming from?
As BB looks ahead, he spots a big brown building with a vehicle parked outside. The vehicle makes him long for home. Painted on the vehicle are trees and a picture of someone who looks just like him—furry, big feet, and a happy grin (but much bigger). Could this be a relative’s vehicle? Maybe an aunt, uncle, or cousin’s house? The music gets louder the closer he gets to the building, and it’s so lively and cheerful that he can’t help but be drawn in.
As he nears the door, he hears a booming voice shout, “JENDOUBLY!” It’s a friendly voice—just very loud. What language is that? Not Yeti. Not human. And then, the happy music plays again.
BB sneaks inside unnoticed while the lady at the front answers a phone that won’t stop ringing. He hears the same loud voice again: “You’re listening to the Happiest Show on the Radio—The Sunday Morning Polka Party with me, the Big Moose! Let’s get the show started!”
The music starts, and BB can’t resist the urge to dance. He moves closer to the beautiful sounds of trumpets, tubas, and saxophones. Another door leads him into a room filled with strange machines he’s never seen before, but the music keeps playing. He sneaks under a desk and happily taps his big feet to the rhythm. He can’t stop smiling. Oh, if only Willow and Thorne were here—they’d be dancing and singing along, even if they didn’t understand the words!
Suddenly, the man with curly hair puts funny phones on his ears and begins talking into a round metal stick: “It’s time to Wobeticha, Wobeticha, Wobeticha!!” BB doesn’t understand what that means, but it sounds so fun that he can’t help but move to the music. He closes his eyes and sways left to right—whoops! He almost gets stepped on as the Moose man starts dancing too! The man steps left, and BB follows, landing right on his toe. “OUCH!” says the Moose man. BB is scared, but when he looks up, he sees a twinkle in the Moose man’s eye and a smile on his face. He’s happy to have someone dancing with him.
The Moose man lifts BB onto the desk, and they both laugh. The Moose man points to the microphone and says, “I have a visitor in the studio with me,” then gestures to BB, signaling him to say hello! BB is so nervous that he can’t speak, but the Moose man just laughs and says, “My little buddy is shy but sure is a good polka dancer, so let’s get back to the music and watch his moves!”
The music starts again, and BB dances all over the desk, on top of silver objects, across yellow and red buttons, and even on the telephone! He’s having the best time. After several hours, the Moose man announces, “That’ll wrap things up for another edition of the Happiest Show on the Radio!” BB knows it’s time to move on—and he’s exhausted!
He gives a big wave to the Moose man with the funny phones on his ears and a bright smile on his face, then dances his way out the door, ready for his next adventure.
